Tommie Harris' wife dies

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Damion James scored 29 points and 14th-ranked Texas hit a couple of late three-pointers Wednesday to hold off Texas Christian 67-59.
TCU stayed close, trailing by just three points with under four minutes to play, but the Longhorns stayed ahead with the help of long-range shots by D.J. Augustin and Justin Mason.
Augustin finished with 20 points. Henry Salter led the Horned Frogs with 19.
Texas, which had lost its two previous games, is 12-2. TCU is 8-5.
