NHL: Calgary 2, Vancouver 1

CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Kristian Huselius' 18th goal late in the second period Monday lifted the Calgary Flames past the Vancouver Canucks 2-1.

Owen Nolan got the other goal for Calgary, which beat Vancouver for the first time in five tries this season. Daymond Langkow assisted on both Calgary tallies.

Miikka Kiprusoff stopped all but one of the 25 Canucks shots he faced.

Vancouver's lone goal came from Daniel Sedin, assisted by his brother Henrik. Roberto Luongo made 18 saves in the loss, which was the Canucks' second in seven games.
