JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Alex Trlica kicked a 41-yard field goal with two seconds left Tuesday, delivering Texas Tech a 31-28 victory over Virginia in the Gator Bowl.

Texas Tech began the winning drive at its own 47 with the score tied 28-28. Four consecutive runs by Kobey Lewis, who recovered his own fumble during one carry, and Graham Harrell's nine-yard pass to Lewis put the Red Raiders in field-goal range.

Harrell passed for 407 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Michael Crabtree caught nine passes for 101 yards, while Eric Morris grabbed nine for 77 yards and Danny Amendola six for 68 yards.

Mikell Simpson rushed for 170 yards, including a record-setting 96-yard touchdown, and added 36 yards on five catches for Virginia (9-4). Jameel Sewell passed for only 78 yards before leaving in the fourth quarter with a knee sprain.
