COL BKB: Clemson 87, Alabama 61

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Trevor Booker and James Mays each scored 18 points Tuesday, carrying the 19th-ranked Clemson Tigers to an 87-61 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Terrence Oglesby added 17 points for Clemson (12-1). K.C. Rivers had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Tigers, who will host top-ranked North Carolina Sunday.

Alonzo Gee led Alabama (10-4) with 17 points and six rebounds. Richard Hendrix had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Crimson Tide, which had its win streak stopped at six.
