DETROIT, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Manny Legace made 31 saves Monday, backstopping St. Louis' 2-0 shutout of the Detroit Red Wings.

Erik Johnson and Lee Stempniak each scored for St. Louis, which snapped a four-game losing streak.

It was Legace's second shutout this season and the 20th of his career. It also marked the first time the Blues shut out the Red Wings in Detroit since 1993.

Dominik Hasek turned away 21 of 22 shots in the loss for Detroit, which had a four-game winning streak snapped and was shut out for the first time this season.
