NHL: Columbus 4, Edmonton 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Rick Nash registered his second career hat trick Monday,fueling the Columbus Jackets' 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Jiri Novotny had a goal and an assist, and Nikolai Zherdev had two assists for the Blue Jackets, who have won two straight.

Pascal Leclaire made 26 saves in the win.

Ethan Moreau and Steve Staios scored for Edmonton, which has dropped six straight.

Moreau added an assist and Dwayne Roloson allowed four goals on 32 shots in defeat.
