
SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan's 24 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists Sunday led San Antonio in a 111-87 pounding of the Memphis Grizzlies.
Memphis folded after trailing by just 48-46 at the half. The Spurs opened the second half on a 14-2 spurt, and Memphis never recovered.
A jumper by Jacque Vaughn stretched the lead to 76-56 with just over three minutes to go in the period, and it was 86-64 heading to the final stanza. San Antonio led by as many as 25 in the fourth.
Tony Parker had 24 points and nine assists. Michael Finley had 22 points and seven rebounds, and reserve Matt Bonner scored 18 points for the Spurs, who have won three of their last four contests.
Memphis was led by Pau Gasol's 19 points and five rebounds. Rudy Gay had 16 points and five rebounds.
Darko Milicic scored 11, and Carlos Navarro had 10 points and seven assists for the Grizzlies, who have lost five straight.
