COL FB: Fresno State 40, Georgia Tech 28

BOISE, Idaho, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Clifton Smith rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns Monday, helping Fresno State defeat Georgia Tech 40-28 in the Humanitarian Bowl.

Tom Brandstater completed 23 of 30 passes for 285 yards and one touchdown. He also ran for a score for Fresno State (9-4), which finished its season with three straight wins.

Marlon Moore caught seven passes for 80 yards and also rushed for a score in the win.

Taylor Bennett completed nine of 15 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown for Georgia Tech. Calvin Booker completed seven of 15 passes for 116 yards with one score and an interception for Georgia Tech (7-6), which dropped two in a row.

Jonathan Dwyer added 62 yards rushing and a two scores in defeat.
