NHL: Los Angeles 3, Chicago 2 (OT)

CHICAGO, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Dustin Brown scored at 3:31 of overtime Sunday to give the Los Angeles Kings a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

The overtime was set up after LA's Kyle Calder scored his fifth goal of the season on the power play at 7:29 of the third period, knotting the score 2-2.

Brown's game-winner was his 18th goal this season and his second of the contest. His 17th goal at 2:43 of the second brought Los Angeles within 2-1.

Jason LaBarbera stopped 30 of 32 shots for the Kings, who have won two in a row following an eight-game losing streak.

Chicago went up 2-0 on goals by Jonathan Toews in the second and Jacob Dowell in the third.

Nikolai Khabibulin was beaten three times on 36 shots for the Blackhawks, who were trying for their fifth win in a row.

On the power play, Los Angeles went 1 for 5 and Chicago went 0 for 2.
