NHL: Detroit 4, Phoenix 2

GLENDALE, Ariz., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and two assists Saturday, leading the Detroit Red Wings past Phoenix 4-2.

Mikael Samuelsson, Brian Rafalski and Kris Draper also scored for the Red Wings, who won their fourth straight game and their 14th out of 16. Chris Osgood made 32 saves on 34 shots.

Ed Jovanovski and Radim Vrbata scored goals and Ilja Bryzgalov stopped 31 shots for Phoenix, which has lost three straight.

The game was tied 2-2 with 4:06 left to play in the third when Datsyuk scored what turned out to be the winning goal. Draper scored on an empty net with 35 seconds to go.
