DENVER, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Jason Elam's 30-yard field goal in overtime Sunday gave the Denver Broncos a 22-19 victory over Minnesota and eliminated the Vikings from playoff contention.

Jay Cutler completed 26 of 37 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns for the Broncos (7-9), who ended the season with a losing record for the first time since 1999.

Brandon Marshall caught 10 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown, while Tony Scheffler had seven catches for 52 yards and a score.

Tarvaris Jackson threw for 175 yards on 16 of 31 passing with two touchdowns for the Vikings (8-8).

Bobby Wade caught both touchdown tosses from Jackson, while Chester Taylor had 83 yards on 10 carries.

The loss -- Minnesota's second straight -- coupled with Washington's 27-6 win over Dallas Sunday, allowed the Redskins to advance to the NFC playoffs.
