Marbury misses another Knicks game

NEW YORK, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- New York point guard Stephon Marbury watched the Knicks' game against Chicago Sunday in street clothes.

He has missed nine of the Knicks' last 13 games following the Dec. 17 death of his father at Madison Square Garden while watching the Knicks' 119-92 loss to the Indiana Pacers. Marbury's return to action will be determined by his physical conditioning.

"He's not game-ready," Coach Isiah Thomas told New York Newsday after a 100-83 loss to the Bulls. "There's a lot of conditioning work he needs, but in terms of emotionally and mentally, he's in good spirits and he looks better."

The Knicks have gone 3-10 in the games Marbury has missed.

In 18 games this season, the 6-foot-2 Marbury has averages of 13.6 points and 4.7 assists.
