TORONTO, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Petr Prucha scored twice and Jaromir Jagr had a goal and three assists Saturday in the New York Rangers' 6-1 rout of Toronto.

New York scored the game's first six goals, which included a 5-0 advantage after the second period. Martin Straka had a goal and an assist.

Blair Betts and Brendan Shanahan both scored once, while Stephen Valiquette came within about eight minutes of recording his second career victory for the Rangers, who set a season high for goals in one game in their second straight win.

They had not scored more than five goals in a regular-season game since a 7-2 win over Toronto last April 1.

Toronto's only goal was scored by Darcy Tucker at 8:20 of the third.

In net, Andrew Raycroft and Scott Clemmensen combined to allow six goals on 34 shots for the Maple Leafs, who have dropped three in a row.
