Los Angeles has won only 12 games this year and a quarter of them have come against San Jose. But Evgeni Nabokov made 29 saves in helping the Sharks end their own three-game losing streak, their longest of the season.

Michalek scored on a slap shot at 9:02 of the first and gave the Sharks a two-goal lead 3:24 into the third period by tipping in a shot from Joe Thornton. Michalek ran his goal total for the season to 12.

Rob Blake scored in the second period for the Kings to make it 2-1 and Lubomir Visnovsky again brought Los Angeles within a goal on the power play with just 28 seconds left in the game.
