LAKE FOREST, Ill., Dec. 24 (UPI) -- The Chicago Bears placed defensive end Mark Anderson on injured reserve Monday.

Anderson suffered a knee injury in the Bears' Dec. 17 loss to Minnesota and did not play against Green Bay Sunday.

Anderson was tied for third on the team with five quarterback sacks and ranked fifth on the defensive line with 36 tackles.

A two-year veteran out of Alabama, Anderson had five tackles for loss, nine quarterback hits, broke up one pass and forced a fumble during his first full season as a starter.
