Dolphins put linebacker on injured reserve

DAVIE, Fla., Dec. 22 (UPI) -- The Miami Dolphins placed linebacker Channing Crowder on injured reserve a few days after he underwent surgery on his right knee.

Crowder hadn't played since Dec. 2 against the New York Jets and was inactive for the team's last two games. He underwent an arthroscopic procedure on Tuesday.

Crowder appeared in 11 games this season, including 10 starts, and led the Dolphins with 78 tackles.

The Dolphins filled Crowder's roster spot by activating quarterback Casey Bramlet from the practice squad.

Bramlet started this season on the active roster of the Atlanta Falcons, but was waived after two games and signed to Miami's practice squad.
