VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Two third-period goals from Daniel Sedin Thursday lifted Vancouver to a 3-2 victory over Dallas.
The Stars had a four-game winning streak halted and Vancouver won for the seventh time in its last eight home games.
Vancouver took a 2-1 advantage into the third period and Sedin scored 3:07 into the stanza on a slap shot that got past Marty Turco.
Jussi Jokinen narrowed Dallas' deficit to a goal three minutes later, but Sedin restored the two-goal cushion by scoring on the power-play with 10:07 to play.
Dallas again closed to within one on a power-play goal by Antti Miettinen, but Roberto Luongo protected the lead the rest of the way and finished with 32 saves.
Luongo was coming off his fifth shutout of the season on Tuesday after missing four games with a rib injury.
