DENVER, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Anthony Carter made a leaning jump shot with 1 second remaining in the second overtime Thursday, giving Denver a 112-111 win over Houston.
Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson combined for 73 points in pushing the Nuggets to their fourth win in six games.
Yao Ming missed a turnaround jumper at the end of regulation that would have won it for the Rockets and Iverson misfired on a jumper at the buzzer in the first overtime.
The Rockets have dropped five of their last six.
Anthony had 37 points and 16 rebounds while Iverson contributed 36 points and six assists.
Yao scored 25 for Houston and Luther Head had 22. Yao hit two free throws with four seconds remaining to give the Rockets the lead, only to have Carter hit his off-balanced jumper to win it.
