COL BKB: Wash. St. 67, The Citadel 45

PULLMAN, Wash., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Aron Baynes scored 16 points Thursday and Washington State finished the first half on a 13-0 run to overwhelm The Citadel 67-45.

The sixth-ranked Cougars won for the 10th time in as many starts this season.

Washington State owned a 20-18 lead with seven minutes remaining in the opening period and then shut out the Bulldogs for the rest of the half. Baynes also pulled down 12 rebounds and Daven Harmeling scored 11 points.

Ten Cougars scored in the game and Washington State hit 52 percent of its shots from the field.

The Bulldogs were led by 14 points from Zach Urbanus. The Citadel fell to 4-6.
