OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Austin Johnson blocked a three-point try and hit a free throw during the final five seconds Thursday, preserving Oklahoma's 72-68 win over Gonzaga.
The Sooners' victory over the 23rd-ranked Bulldogs came in the All-College Classic.
Longar Longar led Oklahoma with 16 points and Blake Griffin added 15 for Oklahoma (9-3).
Gonzaga (9-3) took a 58-54 lead with 6:15 remaining, but Longar put the Sooners in front at 67-66 on a jumper with 1:42 remaining. Two free throws by Johnson made it a three-point game with 47 seconds left.
Oklahoma still led by three when Jeremy Pargo, who scored a career-high 28 points, put up a three-pointer with five seconds to go. That effort was swatted away by Johnson, who gained control of the ball and was fouled.
Johnson's free throw with a second to go clinched the win.
Pargo was playing for only the second time after missing most of the season with a hyper extended knee.
