COL BKB: Stanford 74, Santa Clara 48

STANFORD, Calif., Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Brook Lopez scored 20 points in his first game of the season Wednesday, sparking No. 25 Stanford to a 74-48 win over Santa Clara.

Stanford (9-1) has won five in a row and welcomed back Lopez, who had been academically ineligible during the fall semester.

Lawrence Hill added 16 points and Taj Finger had 10 for the Cardinal.

Santa Clara (7-4) got 17 points from John Bryant.

Stanford coasted to a 29-17 lead at halftime and enjoyed a 23-4 run during the second period.
