NEW YORK, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Reserve Washington quarterback Todd Collins Wednesday was named NFC Player of the Week after his heroics in last Thursday's 24-16 win over Chicago.
Collins, a 16-year veteran, replaced injured starter Jason Campbell and completed 15 of 20 passes for 224 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions to help the Redskins remain in the NFC wild-card picture.
Other NFC honors went to Seattle cornerback Marcus Trufant (defense) and Green Bay kick returner Will Blackmon (special teams).
Trufant made six tackles and a career-high three interceptions, including an 84-yard return for a touchdown in the Seahawks' NFC Division-clinching a 42-21 win over Arizona.
The touchdown was the first in his three-year career, equaled the third-longest in team history, and his three interceptions equaled a franchise single-game record.
Blackmon became the fourth player in NFL history with a punt-return touchdown and a fumble-return touchdown in the same game in the Packers NFC North Division-clinching a 38-7 win over Oakland.
