CINCINNATI, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Derrick Brown led four players in double figures with 17 points Wednesday, carrying No. 17 Xavier to a 64-59 win over Cincinnati.

The game was marred by an injury suffered by Cincinnati senior guard Marvin Gentry. As Gentry was diving for a loose ball in the second half, his head collided with the thigh of teammate Deonta Vaughn.

Gentry eventually had to be taken from the court on a stretcher. The extent of his injuries were not immediately disclosed.

Drew Lavender added 12 points for Xavier (8-1), Josh Duncan had 11 and Stanley Burrell had 10.

Cincinnati (4-5) was led by Jamal Warren and Vaughn with 10 each.

A late eight-point Xavier run wrapped up the game with Burrell making two free throws with 36 seconds left for a 59-53 lead.
