NEW YORK, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki had 36 points and seven rebounds Monday, carrying the Dallas Mavericks to a 99-89 victory over the New York Knicks.

Josh Howard added 22 points and six rebounds, and Jerry Stackhouse scored 13 points for the Mavericks.

Zach Randolph had 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Knicks, who have lost three straight by an average of 16.3 points. Jamal Crawford added 19 points and Fred Jones had 16 for New York, which played without point guard Stephon Marbury.

Marbury missed the game as he continues to deal with the death of his father, who passed away last week.

New York trailed by as many as 23 points in the game.
