LOS ANGELES, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Dustin Brown and Tom Preissing scored twice each Thursday as part of an offensive onslaught that carried the Los Angeles Kings past Buffalo 8-2.
The Kings won for the first time in December -- and for only the third time in 12 games.
Los Angeles scored four times in the first period and built a 7-0 advantage before the Sabres could get on the board. Buffalo has lost six of its last eight road games.
Buffalo's Jocelyn Thibault gave up four goals on 10 shots in the first period before being relieved by Ryan Miller -- who did not fare any better.
Michael Cammalleri began the outburst 3:55 into the first period, after which Brown, Preissing and Jaroslav Modry added first-period goals. Four of the Kings' scores came on the power play and another came shorthanded.
Jonathan Quick had to make just 15 saves to get the win. He lost his shutout bid with 6:17 to go in the second when Thomas Vanek scored on a tip-in.
