NHL: Dallas 2, Columbus 1 (SO)

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Niklas Hagman's goal in the fifth round of a shootout Monday gave the Dallas Stars a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Hagman beat Columbus goalie Pascal Leclaire with a backhand shot to lead Dallas to its eighth win in its last 10 games.

Nikolai Zherdev scored in the first period for the Stars. Marty Turco made 25 saves for the Pacific Division leaders.

Chris Conner scored and Leclaire made 33 saves for the Blue Jackets, who lost for the third time in their last four games.
