NFL: Buffalo 17, Washington 16

LANDOVER, Md., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Rian Lindell's 36-yard field goal with four seconds left Sunday gave Buffalo a 17-16 win over Washington on a day of tributes to the slain Sean Taylor.

Washington players wore No. 21 patches and fans waved towels bearing that number in memory of the Redskins' safety, who died after being shot during a break-in at his Florida home last week.

Lindell's kick was his fifth field goal of the game -- and 15 yards shorter than it might have been because of a blunder by Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs. Lindell initially was to kick from 51 yards, but Gibbs, trying to ice the kicker, drew a 15-yard Redskins' penalty for calling back-to-back timeouts in violation of NFL rules.

Trent Edwards completed 22-of-36 passes for 257 yards for the Bills (6-6).

Jason Campbell passed for 216 yards and a touchdown for Washington (5-7), which has lost four straight games.

In honor of Taylor, the Redskins lined up with 10 men on their first defensive play. After the play was run, safety Reed Doughty, replacing Taylor in the lineup, came in as the 11th man.
