NHL: N.Y. Rangers 5, Ottawa 2

OTTAWA, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Brendan Shanahan scored twice Saturday in a 5-2 New York Rangers win over Ottawa, extending the Senators' losing streak to six games.

Shanahan knocked in goals in the first two periods for the Rangers, who never trailed. Daniel Girardi, Jaromir Jagr and Blair Betts also had goals for New York, which had lost to Ottawa the five previous times the two teams met.

Rangers' goalie Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves.

Ottawa, which started the season 15-2-0, got goals from Joe Corvo and Dany Heatley.
