BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Alex Kotalik's two goals led an 8-1 Buffalo rout of the Carolina Hurricanes Saturday.

Jaroslav Spacek added a goal and two assists for the Sabres, who have won six of their last seven games.

Ray Whitney got the lone Carolina goal.

Ryan Miller had 20 saves for the winners and John Grahame 17 for the Hurricanes, who have lost three of four.
