Finch takes lead in New Zealand Open

QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Englishman Richard Finch shot an 8-under-par 64 Saturday for a three-shot lead after three rounds in the New Zealand Open.

Finch, seeking his first win on the European Tour, was at 14-under-par 202.

Steven Bowditch was alone in second place at 11-under 205, and Rick Kulacz, Paul Sheehan and Ewan Porter were another three shots back.

Seventy-one-year-old Bob Charles shot 71 and shared 34th place at 2-under-par 214.

Charles, in this tournament, became the oldest person to make the cut on a major tour.
