WACO, Texas, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Two late three-point shots by Derrick Low Friday night allowed No. 6 Washington State to escape with a 67-64 win over Baylor.
Baylor held a 12-point halftime lead and still led by five with five minutes to play.
Washington State's Daven Harmeling then hit two free throws and Low hit a three-point shot to tie it at 60-60. After another Baylor miss, Low hit one more long-range shot to give the Cougars a three-point advantage.
With Washington State still clinging to a three-point cushion, Baylor's Henry Dugat missed a shot from beyond the arc at the buzzer.
Washington State is unbeaten in its first seven games, equaling its best start in 16 years. Harmeling and Aron Baynes led the Cougars with 10 points each.
