BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Brad Boyes scored with 57.5 seconds left in the third period Wednesday, giving St. Louis a 4-3 win over Buffalo.
The Blues overcame a one-goal deficit heading into the final stanza to remain unbeaten against the Sabres in their last 12 meetings. St. Louis has captured its last three games and has won seven out of eight.
Martin Rucinsky, Paul Kariya and Mike Johnson also scored for the Blues, who last lost to Buffalo in the opener of the 1997-98 season. Manny Legace made 20 saves.
Ryan Miller stopped Boyes' original shot, but Boyes grabbed the loose puck, circled behind the net and shoved it past the Buffalo goaltender for the game-winner.
The Sabres had won their five previous games. They picked up goals by Jason Pominville, Ales Kotalik and Andrej Sekera.
Sekera scored his first career NHL with 8:58 remaining to tie it at 3-3.
