AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Emerging star D.J. Augustin scored 20 points Wednesday as No. 8 Texas remained unbeaten with a 98-61 victory over Texas Southern.

Augustin, taking over as the team leader now that Kevin Durant has moved on to the NBA, helped the Longhorns pull away in the second half with a 25-9 run.

Damion James contributed 19 points and Justin Mason had 16. Texas, which shot 51.3 percent from the field, improved to 6-0.

Texas moved into the Top 10 this week after an unexpected 19-point win over Tennessee.

Texas Southern was led by 15 points each from Kevin Abanobi and Anthony Ike. The Tigers trailed by only seven at halftime.
