NBA: Boston 96, Charlotte 95

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Ray Allen sank a buzzer-beating three-pointer as time expired Saturday night to help the Boston Celtics edge Charlotte 96-95.

Boston improved to 11-1 to start the season despite a few missed shots in the final two minutes.

Boston's Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett scored 23 points apiece. Allen and James Posey scored 14 points each, Garnett had 11 rebounds and Pierce added seven assists.

Charlotte was led by Jason Richardson's 25 points and nine rebounds. Emeka Okafor had 15 points and nine rebounds.

Raymond Felton had 18 points, nine assists and four rebounds, while Jared Dudley added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Bobcats, who have lost three in a row.

The Bobcats played without forward Gerald Wallace (calf) and center Ryan Hollins (shoulder). They led by as many as nine in the second quarter before settling for a 53-48 edge at the half.

The Celtics forged a 76-75 advantage going into the fourth.
