KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Chase Daniel completed 40-of-49 passes for 361 yards and three TDs Saturday as 3rd-ranked Missouri beat previously-unbeaten, 2nd-ranked Kansas 36-28.
Missouri, which will next play in the Big 12 championship game against 9th-ranked Oklahoma, nearly lost a 28-7 lead going into the final quarter. A late recovery of an onside kick stopped the Kansas rally.
Danario Alexander had eight receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown for Missouri (11-1, 7-1 Big 12), which captured the conference's North Division. The only loss for the Tigers this season was a 41-31 setback at Oklahoma Oct. 13.
Todd Reesing completed on 28-of-49 passes for 349 yards with two touchdowns for the Jayhawks (11-1, 7-1), who had attained their highest ranking in school history. With Kansas' loss, Hawaii is the lone unbeaten team in major college football.
