NHL: Chicago 5, Detroit 3

DETROIT, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Patrick Sharp scored three times in the third period Saturday night, as the Chicago Blackhawks rallied past the Detroit Red Wings, 5-3.

It was Sharp's first NHL hat trick. An assist on Rene Bourque's first-period goal gave him his first four-point night.

His eighth goal this season tied the contest, 3-3, at the 4:30 mark, and his ninth and 10th (empty net) capped the scoring.

Bourque also scored in the second period.

Brent Sopel had two assists, while goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 39-of-42 shots, as the Blackhawks beat the Red Wings for the fourth straight time this season and fifth time overall.

Detroit's Tomas Holmstrom and Henrik Zetterberg both had a goal and an assist.

Brian Rafalski scored once, while Dominic Hasek was beaten four times on just 16 shots as the Red Wings dropped their third straight game.

On the power play, Chicago went 0-for-3, and Detroit was 1-for-5.
