TUCSON, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Sean Singletary scored 24 points Saturday night to help Virginia upset 17th-ranked Arizona, 75-72.
The teams were deadlocked at 69-69 with 1:22 left when Singletary hit two free throws and a jump shot to put Virginia ahead, 73-69.
Jeff Jones made five three-pointers to score 15 points. Reserve Jamil Tucker had 12 points and four rebounds, while Mamadi Diane added nine points and blocked three shots for the Cavaliers, who improved to 3-0 in their first road game this season.
Arizona, which faced a 42-31 halftime deficit, was led by Jerryd Bayless' 21 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Chase Budinger had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists, and Jordan Hill had 14 points and five rebounds for the Wildcats (1-1), who lost to the Cavaliers a second straight season.
