RENO, Nev., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Dan Kelly kicked a 45-yard field goal in the closing seconds at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nev., Friday night to lift undefeated Hawaii over Nevada, 28-26.
Hawaii trailed by a point with 2:16 left to play when quarterback Tyler Graunke engineered a final four-play drive from his own 12-yard line, connecting on short passes.
Kelly nailed a 45-yard field goal with 15 seconds left, but it was waived off because Nevada took its last timeout. Kelly's winning boot came with just 11 ticks left on the clock.
Graunke completed 33-of-48 passes for 358 yards and two touchdowns and scored a rushing TD for the undefeated Warriors (10-0, 7-0 WAC).
Utah quarterback Colin Kaepernick went 9-of-20 for 134 yards and a touchdown as the Wolf Pack lost a bid to become bowl eligible. Utah fell to 5-5, 3-3, despite a 140-yards rushing by Luke Lippincott on 25 carries.
Lippincott caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown.
