LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Terrence Williams recorded a triple-double Saturday as sixth-ranked Louisville belted Hartford 104-69 in the Cardinals' season-opener.
Seven Louisville players -- including all five starters -- scored in double figures in the contest played at Louisville's Freedom Hall as part of the Las Vegas Invitational.
The winners could not shake Hartford totally before halftime, heading into the break with a 46-31 lead, but a 58-38 second half led to the 35-point victory.
Williams notched 14 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. Andre McGee scored 18 points, while Edgar Sosa scored 15, and Derrick Caracter, David Padgett, and Earl Clark all scored 10 points for the Cardinals (1-0), who are co-favorites with Georgetown to win the Big East Conference this season.
Hartford was led by Joe Zeglinski's 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Morgan Sabia had 11 points and four rebounds, and Warren McLendon added 10 points and two assists for the Hawks, who fell to 1-3.
