LINCOLN, Neb., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Police in Lincoln, Neb., investigated the phone records of a man who allegedly left threatening messages for Nebraska defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove.

The Lincoln Star-Journal reported Wednesday a police search warrant was filed Wednesday in Lancaster County District Court to examine the phone records of a man who allegedly threatened to "kill" Cosgrove in the wake of the Cornhuskers' 76-39 loss at Kansas Nov. 3.

Cosgrove reported receiving numerous phone messages containing vulgar language in the past weeks and his administrative assistant was reported as being concerned for his safety.

"I find it totally disgusting" Roy Baker, a 1967 Nebraska graduate and former head of the university's Lincoln Alumni Chapter, told the Star-Journal. "Certainly, that's not the image most Nebraska people, most Nebraska fans want. For that matter, it's not the image most (fans) deserve."

Baker added the calls have "tarnished the image of Nebraska fans."

The report didn't identify the caller and no arrests have been made.
