OTTAWA, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Daniel Alfredsson, playing in his 800th NHL game, scored twice Thursday night to help the Ottawa Senators top the Buffalo Sabres, 3-2.

Alfredsson scored his 14th and 15th goals of the season in the first period. The second came on the power play.

Ottawa's other goal, scored by Shean Donovan at 16:48 of the second, was the game-winner.

Goalie Martin Gerber stopped 35-of-37 shots for his league-leading 12th victory, as the Senators improved to 15-2.

Buffalo got one goal apiece from Jochen Hecht and Derek Roy (power play in the third).

Goaltender Ryan Miller was beaten three times on 34 shots for the Sabres, who have lost three straight and four of five.

On the power play in the penalty-filled contest, both clubs went 1-for-7.
