NHL: Nashville 5, Chicago 4 (OT)

NASHVILLE, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Martin Erat scored a bizarre goal just 19 seconds into overtime Thursday night, giving the Nashville Predators a 5-4 victory over Chicago.

After the Predators won the draw to start the extra period, Radek Bonk fired a backhander from the right circle that was deflected by Erat.

Goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin made the save, but teammate Brent Seabrook inadvertently knocked the puck into the net with his left glove. Since he was the last Nashville player to have touched the puck, Erat was credited with the winning goal.

Nashville improved to 8-1-1 in its last 10 outings, as Alexander Radulov had a goal and two assists. Chris Mason made 27 saves.

The Predators appeared headed for a regulation victory, but Chicago salvaged a point when Jason Williams tied the game with 43 seconds left in the third period -- with Chicago on a two-man advantage.

Chicago had a 3-1 lead starting the third period, but the Predators scored three times to move in front.
