MEMPHIS, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Pau Gasol scored 26 points Tuesday as the Memphis Grizzlies withstood Tracy McGrady's 41-point attack to beat the Houston Rockets 105-99.
McGrady made 16 of 28 from the floor, but missed his final two attempts, including a jumper for the lead with under two minutes remaining. Yao Ming added 22 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets.
For Memphis, Darko Milicic scored 20 points, Mike Miller had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Rudy Gay added 15 points.
McGrady missed a jumper with the game tied at 97-97, then Kyle Lowry calmly sank two free throws to give the Grizzlies the lead with 1:33 to play. Shane Battier missed a three-pointer and Gasol made a pair of free throws.
McGrady had a chance to pull the Rockets within one point, but his three-pointer missed with 46 seconds left.
