COLORADO SPRINGS, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Wyoming head football Coach Joe Glenn was issued a reprimand Monday by the Mountain West Conference for an obscene gesture in a football game.

Glenn extended his middle finger toward the University of Utah's bench and Coach Kyle Whittingham, when the Utes attempted an onside kick with a 43-0 lead during Utah's 50-0 win in Salt Lake City on Saturday.

The action was in violation of the Mountain West Conference's sportsmanship rule. Since Glenn was a first-time offender, only a reprimand was handed out according to conference rules.

Glenn met with the Cowboys on Sunday to apologize for his actions and released a statement on Monday elaborating on his behavior.
