DETROIT, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Henrik Zetterberg extended his franchise-record point streak to the first 16 games of the season Friday night, as the Detroit Red Wings downed Columbus, 4-1.

It was the ninth straight victory for the Red Wings, equaling the longest winning streak in the team's history. It is a mark that Detroit has reached on six occasions -- most recently, prior to Friday night, in 2005.

Rich Nash scored the only goal for Columbus, which has lost three out of four.

Holmstrom gave Detroit the lead for good at 2-1 with a power-play goal coming with 6:07 remaining in the second period.
