COL BKB: Arkansas 67, Wofford 45

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Patrick Beverley led the way with 15 points Friday night, as No. 19 Arkansas got hot in the second half to defeat Wofford, 67-45.

It was the first game as Razorbacks coach for John Pelphrey, who came to Arkansas after leading South Alabama to post-season appearances in each of the last two seasons. Pelphrey is a former assist under Eddie Sutton and Billy Donovan.

Wofford surprised Arkansas by scoring the game's first six points and the Terriers still had the lead late in the first half.

Arkansas did not go in front for good until Charles Thomas made two free throws with 2:01 remaining in the first period for a 28-26 advantage.

Darian Townes added 14 for Arkansas, which returns all five starters from a team that went 21-14 last season and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Wofford was led by Drew Gibson with 12.
