NAPLES, Fla., Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Tournament host Greg Norman will play in the PGA's Merrill Lynch Shootout Dec. 5-9 at Naples, Fla.

The former PGA star will team with Bubba Watson, who will play in place of world No. 5 Steve Stricker.

"It seems like I say this every year, but I could not be more pleased with the way the field and subsequently how the pairings shaped up," said Norman, a 20-time tournament winner. "Again we have 24 very impressive resumes and a great blend of youth and experience. Some of these guys are joining us for the first time, while others are Shootout veterans."

Other pairings announced Tuesday were defending titlist duo Jerry Kelly-Rod Pampling, who will try to become the third team in Shootout history to make a successful title defense; Fred Couples-John Daly; Camilo Villegas-Chris DiMarco; Stewart Cink-Zach Johnson; and Justin Leonard-Scott Verplank.

The field also includes Woody Austin-Mark Calcavecchia; Charles Howell III-Nick Price; Fred Funk-Jeff Sluman; Anthony Kim-Mark O'Meara; Steve Elkington-Scott McCarron; and Scott Hoch-Kenny Perry.
