NASHVILLE, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- The NFL will not shorten Tennessee cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones' one-year suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Jones was suspended for the entire 2007 season April 10 by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Goodell, when announcing the suspension, said Jones' status would be reviewed after the Titans' 10th regular season game. Jones traveled to New York last week to discuss possible early reinstatement, and The (Nashville) Tennessean reported Tuesday Goodell had decided not to wait until after the 10th game.
"Commissioner Goodell notified Adam Jones today that his suspension will remain unchanged and will continue through the remainder of the 2007 season," an NFL statement said. "He will be eligible to begin working out at the Titans' facility following the conclusion of the team's season.".
Jones has had numerous run-ins with the law in just two NFL seasons, including alleged involvement in a shooting at a strip club in Las Vegas during the NBA's All-Star weekend in February. He faces two felony charges of coercion from that incident. He also is facing charges in Georgia for another incident.
Since entering the NFL, Jones has been arrested five times.
