
DALLAS, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Jason Terry came off the bench to score 31 points Monday lifting the Dallas Mavericks to a 107-98 victory over the Houston Rockets.
Josh Howard added 21 points, six rebounds and four assists. Jerry Stackhouse celebrated his 33rd birthday Monday by scoring 16 points.
Dallas was leading 93-90 with just over four minutes remaining before Stackhouse and Dirk Nowitzki scored three-pointers to build a 101-92 advantage. Nowitzki had 19 points and nine rebounds for the Mavericks, who won for the third time in four games.
Dallas again was without point guard Devin Harris, who is nursing a thigh contusion, and also was missing Erick Dampier, Devean George and Brandon Bass, who injured his ankle in Saturday's win over the Kings.
Tracy McGrady had 35 points and eight assists and Yao Ming had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Rockets.
