
BOISE, Idaho, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Taylor Tharp completed 28-of-35 passes for 259 yards and three touchdowns Saturday afternoon to lead No. 22 Boise State to a 42-7 victory over San Jose State.
Ian Johnson returned to action and scored two touchdowns, and Jeremy Avery gained 56 yards on seven rushes with a TD for the Broncos (8-1, 5-0 WAC). Austin Pettis had receptions for 56 yards and two touchdowns for Boise State, which has won seven straight after suffering its only loss of the season to Washington Sept. 8.
Adam Tafralis completed 11-of-19 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown for San Jose State (3-6, 2-3), which has lost three games in a row. Kevin Jurovich's 4-yard touchdown catch was the only score for the Spartans, who were out-gained 434 yards to 198.
